2013: A Year in Review

What an amazing year 2013 has been!  I've noticed a lot of comments from people who are excited for this year to be over with, but I can't say that I feel the same.  We have really been blessed this year so I'm not counting the hours until it ends, but I'm certainly excited to see what 2014 holds!

A lot happened this year and one of the most notable accomplishments for us has been our decision to get into shape and learn more about how to eat clean.  We have had our ups and downs with this, but I set out and reached my goal to get back down to what I weighed when i got pregnant with Aria in March of 2011.  I not only met that goal but exceeded it!

This year was filled with a lot of memories but here are a few that will forever remain in the forefront of my mind.  Wish I could share them all, but the pictures would be never ending!

We said goodbye to my beautiful, sweet Granny.

Loved this fun rain day!

I said goodbye to my pet of 15 years, Cosette.

We survived the worst haircut ever (life altering event for Jason).

We have been so blessed to watch our Taekwondo school grow!  We have so many amazing people in our lives because of the family that has developed at APEX.

We traveled to New York City for our friends Miguel and Joanna's wedding.

This good looking guy got a well deserved promotion at work!

We made a trip to Seattle.

Our baby girl turned 2!

We celebrated the first Christmas where Aria could semi understand what was going on.

And finally, here are the results I saw physically from the beginning to the end of the year.

We have really learned a lot along the way and I enjoy talking to people about the changes we made this past year.  Sometimes they respond saying they could never do what we do because it is too hard.  As I've mentioned before, my response to them is always "Of course you can!"  Anyone can!  We aren't perfect and there are a lot of people out there who do it better than us, but we really do make an effort and it is important to keep in mind that our goals are very different than the body builders I see on Instagram.

We are blessed and we are thankful.  Here's to a new year of doing everything better and having new adventures!  Happy New Year to all and may 2014 bring you more blessings than your heart can stand!  Cheers!
